GOOD MORNING
TRIPLE C!

This week we went BANANAS with banana songs, banana splits, nutritional education, fruit and plant lessons and a whole lot of monkey business kept our campers active and learning! Have you heard about the other great summer theme weeks planned for the year? Check this out…

Pioneer Power
(K & 1st Grade)

After Lunch, The Pioneer Girls chill out with DANIELLE
KATHY and friends make binoculars at arts and crafts

The Pioneers got to "Go BANANAS" all around Triple C Camp this week. It was great to go to the pool for swimming lessons, and games with ABBY, PHIL and MARTIENE. At Arts & Crafts with SARA, we made fantastic monkey pictures, and monkey masks. CLAIRE introduced us to all the great animals at the petting zoo, and MIRIEME let us play with the critters at the Nature Center. Drama Diva SAM helped the Pioneers put on some great Round-Up Performances throughout the week! Sports and Games with HENRY lead to some great Pavilion games too. The amazing Pioneer counselors took us hiking Kinser's Climb or Merryl's Perril, allowed us to hunt for salamanders, or work on building our forts. We also learned how to play games like drip, drip, splash, basketball, kickball, baseball, and capture a friend Next week promises even more as we go "Totally Tropical!"

Trailblazers Rock

(2nd & 3rd Grade)

The second grade boys enjoy swimming lessons with MARTINE
The Trailblazer girls teambuilding with JESS

The freedom of choice... that's what the Trailblazers experienced on Wednesday morning. Deciding between relays at the pool, climbing the wall at the challenge course, making banana boats at a campfire, animals, arts and crafts, sports and games, horseback riding, or water ballon activities led by the EDGE campers made it pretty difficult, but worth it! The second grade girls with LAUREN and ERIN had lots of fun learning about healthy eating and the food groups as they made food group collages, nutrition jeopardy, and you are what you eat - a yummy food activity! All the Trailblazer Boys got down and dirty hiking Kinser's Climb, hunting for salamanders, and building massive forts. When we go "Totally Tropical" next week, who knows what choices the Trailblazers will have!

Got to Explore

(4th 5th & 6th Graders)

ROB enjoys the noodles at the pool

Our Explorers definitely lived up to their name this week while being able to "Go Banana's". All the Explorers enjoyed Archery with HENRY, and of course chillin' at the pool with ABBY, PHIL, and MARTINE. At our newest Explorer Choice, CHALLENGE COURSE, campers enjoyed components of the Challenge Course with KATY MAC and ADAM. At the Flying Squirrel, the Catwalk, the Climbing Wall and Zip Line, campers challenged themselves to overcome their own fears. At the lower elements like All Aboard, Island, TP, Mohawk and Nitro the campers had to learn to work together to overcome the obstacle. The COLT Campers got downright dirty learning about caring for horses, riding and mucking stalls after all the liquid sunshine! The ART & DRAMA campers with RACHEL, BETH, and SHAWNA entertained us all with skits and songs, and even counselor challenges at round-up everyday. The GREAT OUTDOORS campers enjoyed exploring the trails and water at Walnut Creek while learning about building a campfire and canoeing. SPORTS & GAMES with JESSIE and MILES kept going, and going, and going…from the ponies to the pool to hikes and more! They learned how to work together as they played Frisbee Fetch, Apes and Monkeys, Basketball, Soccer, Floor Hockey, Volleyball, Ultimate Frisbee, and Monkey in the Middle! Next week we'll go "Totally Tropical"!

Teen Scene Tours

(6th, 7th & 8th Graders)

The Teen Sceners at Triple C had quite an active week. On Monday, the Teen Scene got to choose their own camp adventures. Some enjoyed the pool, or arts and crafts. Others went hiking, or to the petting zoo. A few went to the challenge course, or enjoyed sports like flag football, nukem', or soccer. Whew' so many choices, so little time! On Tuesday, the Teen Scene got to "Go Banana's" at Sugar Hollow. After a long hike, with scenic views and wildlife, they got to cool off in a swimming hole. The afternoon found them enjoying a quick game of kickball at McIntyre Park. Wednesday morning started out with Community Service. Some campers enjoyed working with Parks and Rec, while others helped with gardening at Cale Elementary. After their hard work, they got to enjoy all that Walnut Creek had to offer. Campers hiked, went canoeing with HANK, and swimming! On Thursday, the Teen Scene headed over the mountain to visit Shenandoah Acres. They had a great time slidin' and zippin' into the swimming hole. Campers finished the week strong at Triple C Camp. Today they enjoyed playing drip, drip, splash, frisbee golf, and stacking cups with their counselors, grooming and washing the mini's with CLAIRE, and visiting JESS at the Challenge Course to climb and zip before the All-Camp Extravaganza. It's hard to imagine what will happen next week as Triple C goes "Totally Tropical!
