GOOD MORNING TRIPLE C!!!

RING MASTER'S EDITION

Triple C Camp was transformed into the Ringling Brothers Circus, as we celebrated UNDER THE BIG TOP! On Friday we were visited by special guests, from Sarasota, Florida. THE WALTENS and their ACROBATIC VARIETY SHOW thrilled our campers! WHAT A TREAT!! Triple C hosted its annual Carnival, which featured acrobats, juggling, and face-painting. The week also contained skits from Art and Drama campers featuring many circus characters, like the Bearded Lady, the Strong Woman, the Reptile Boy, and many more! Next week brings more fun with Alphabet Soup...

Our last overnight of the summer was a big hit with: skits, a campfire filled with songs, silliness, and S'Mores! Overnights will be back next summer so plan to join us!!

Pioneer Power! (K-1st Grades)

The PIONEERS clowned around and had a magical kind of fun in this week's theme of UNDER THE BIG TOP. They had loads of fun painting their faces like clowns and incorporating the week?s theme into skits in the afternoon. At Arts & Crafts with KAREN they got to draw clowns, make their own circus masks and hats to wear. At Drama with LESLIE, they got to plan skits and songs to perform at round-up. At the petting zoo with MILDRED, they were able to play with the rats, ferrets, and sheep, while at the challenge course with KATY MAC, they learned team building activities. The PIONEERS now look forward to slurping up next week's theme of ALPHABET SOUP.

JR LEARNS TO CIRCUS PERFORM

The TRAILBLAZERS were in full circus mode this week of UNDER THE BIG TOP as they juggled, jumped through hoops, and performed some of their favorite circus tricks all week. On Wednesday at Choice Activities this week the TRAILBLAZERS had the choice of: making puppets at Arts & Crafts with KAREN, preparing a circus skit for round up at Drama with LESLIE, hitting the target at archery at Sports & Games with ADAM, practicing their acrobatic skills at the "Flying Squirrel" with KATY MAC, and playing with the animals in the nature center with MILDRED. "The Edge" campers organized water games and a bubble gum hike as additional choices. The TRAILBLAZERS now look forward to chewing up the alphabet next week as they alphabetize in ALPHABET SOUP.

JAMES IS ALL TIED UP BY HIS GREAT OUTDOORS CAMPERS
This week?s theme of UNDER THE BIG TOP was a huge success with our Explorer campers as they performed many stunts all over camp. They all enjoyed displaying their amazing acrobatic skills off the diving board in the pool with MERRYL, EMILY and LAURIE. The ART & DRAMA campers got into the theme of the week by making circus animal masks, painting one of their fellow campers faces like a clown and also making top hats. (Not to mention wowing the crowds with their circus performances at afternoon round-ups all week long.) The SPORTS & GAMES campers were all over camp as they played their favorite sports, which included electric eel, basketball, football and volleyball. Our COLT CAMPERS learned about Equine nutrition from our guest WHITNEY, from Southern States. They not only rode but also learned how to bake "horse treats". Our GREAT OUTDOORS campers had a big week in the wilderness and got closer to nature, as they walked Kinser's climb, played "Hug a Tree", went on a creek hike, made soap, teas and much more. The EXPLORERS are now looking forward to spelling themselves silly in next week's ALPHABET SOUP.

THE EDGE (9th-10th Grades)

This week "The Edge" campers went UNDER THE BIG TOP planning fun new games for Trailblazer Choice Activity Time. They played 22 Skadoo, Skittle Ball, and went on a bubble gum scavenger hunt. In addition they helped plan the All-Camp activity, as well as led sections of the All-Camp. Each camper spent time with a different cabin group teaching fun new activities. These activities included "Jockeys Up", "Tag the Tree", "Matball", "Make it, Take it", and "Tree Hunt". Returning campers had the opportunity to plan one section of the schedule for the group they were assisting this week. We all learned lots of new games to play in the woods, and how to lead and teach these games as well. We're looking forward to the new games and excitement of Alphabet Soup!

Teen Scene on Tour
(6th-8th Grades)

LAUREN AND KATY IN THE SPIRIT

UNDER THE BIG TOP fun started our week out right! Our in camp action included Clowning Around in Drama with LESLIE, getting artistic in Arts & Crafts with KAREN, playing "Tricky Triangle Tension Traverse" on the Challenge Course with KATY MAC, "TRICK" riding with CORINNA and LANCE at the barn and being acrobatic from the diving board at the POOL. It was a full Circus day. The Teen Scene's out of camp adventure began on Tuesday with a trip to the Theater, for the showing of BABE: Pig in the City or SHREK. Following the theater they went to Walnut Creek. On Wednesday morning, campers did community service at Charlottesville Parks and Rec., Colonades Nursing Home and McIntyre Recycling Center. In the afternoon our teens headed to Washington Pool. Thursday took our campers west to Shenandoah Acres for fun on the lake, down the slides and plummeting from the jumping decks. There was Beach volleyball, arcade games, shade and shelters. Friday's excitement was non stop as we wound down our week of UNDER THE BIG TOP with in camp thrills and fun!
