Pioneer Power

Pioneer Boys added the color of the
rainbow to their Magic Wands
It was another great start to a wonderful year at Triple C Camp with the Pioneers exploring the wonders of Over The Rainbow. Magic Wands, Rainbow Necklaces, and Multi-Colored Binoculars were a few of the amazing treasures found at the end of the rainbow. The girls got colorful by painting their finger and toenails while the boys got dirty on nature hikes and the slip-n-slide! All the Pioneers got to ride on the magical ponies with the aid of LEPRECHAUN LANCE. The Pioneers also worked hard on keeping cool by splishin'-n-splashin' in the Pot-of-Gold Pool. All the Pioneers learned some rockin' new songs like "Wishy Washy Washerwoman" and happily sung them while cruisin' on in to camp to start another great day at Triple C!!

Trailblazers Rock!

The First Ever summer for the Trailblazers is off to an outstanding start! Everyone enjoyed all the fun and friendship as the Trailblazers made history! Choice activities on Wednesday included Arts, Drama, Animals, Climbing the Challenge Course Wall, Balloon Relays, Horseback riding, Sports and More! In honor of the World Cup soccer was the lesson this week with ADAM, Flying Butterflies, Dragonflies, Rainbows and Sail fish were flying in Arts & Crafts. Colorful Bandanas were everywhere as HEATHER had great nature activities planned. Campers even made their own Crayolas, using natural items they found in their surroundings. Trailblazers looked awesome on Friday in Yellow as all the groups in camp represented the colors of the rainbow! All week the Trailblazers performed brilliantly in the pool during swim lessons, made forts in the woods, hiked the trails, learned about the camp animals and had FUN!!

Got to Explore...

Over the Rainbow the Explorers went into the Worlds of:

ART & DRAMA- Line dancing, skits and creating colorful dream books were just the beginning of the fun. Smoothie creations added to the festivities of the ongoing songs, games and dances.

SPORTS & GAMES- had a ball literally! The World cup soccer games were the topic as they learned, discussed and tried out their skills. They also Tie Dyed the rainbow, painted the floor while playing floor hockey and challenged themselves on the challenge course.

COLT CAMP-Learning the colors of the horses, the tack parts, and working on riding skills had all the campers sailing high as they met the Triple C Camp horses!

GREAT OUTDOORS-the world around us taught our campers about colors, how they mix and how they impact us on a daily basis. Also using the colors of the woods as camouflage while playing capture the flag, predators and prey and other adaptive games.
Look out for the Exploring Extravaganza Under The Sea next week.

Teen Scene on Tour

The Teen Scene gives their daily update of the trips that they took...

Monday kicked the week off in style as the Teens had choice activities and utilized the great facilities at Triple C Camp. From the Pools to the Challenge Course, everyone made choices and made new friends as they got wet, climbed the wall, worked on arts & crafts projects and tried new great games. Out and about the Teen Scene went Tuesday to learn how Pepsi is made at our local Pepsi Bottling Plant. Following the Pepsi Plant they were wet and wonderful at Chris Greene Lake. Wednesday was "all about" community service in the morning as members of the Teen Scene visited with the Residents at Winter Haven and Colonades. In the afternoon May's Emu Farm in Palmyra was were they could be found. Ever see an Emu before or an Emu egg? It was amazing. The things they learned about Emus!! They got to play with the newborns, learn about the productivity of the birds and bring home great gifts! Everyone should check this place out!! Thursday's morning adventures were to the Highlands Golf Park for Miniature Golf Games. The afternoon at Walnut Creek was full of canoeing, hiking, swimming and just plain fun! Friday made a splash as the Teen Scene once again choose their destiny for the day in choice activities. Nature, Sports, Drama, and time with the Horses were only some of the things to choose from. The All Camp Activities were great as the teen scene finished up their week in style!

Join the Teen Scene next week as they go Under the Sea!

"THE EDGE"

So just what does it take to become a Triple C Camp counselor?? That is just what the edge campers are learning! The skills they are focusing on this week are how to program, the developmental stages of campers, creating activities for the campers and assisting the counselors with the all camp activities on Friday. "The Edge" campers were very surprised by all the things that have to be considered in planning activities, the amount of preparation time and the details that are involved in the day to day operation of camp. WOW! They were very involved with the coordination and planning of this week's ALL CAMP event and the Colorful Creativity that help end the week with a BURST OF COLOR. Thanks to "The Edge" campers: BRYAN DOTSON, CHELSEA PICINICH, BRICE SMITH, and ROSSER WAYLAND, and of course their fearless leader...KATY HARTMAN.

Everyone will be
back next week for more...
