ART AND DRAMA CAMPERS MAKE TYE DYE T-SHIRTS
Our ALPHABET SOUP week saw the EXPLORERS spelling themselves silly! The GREAT OUTDOORS Campers had loads of fun this week as they used the vast resources surrounding camp. The campers learned how to build a fire and had a cook-out on Wednesday. An ABC's scavenger hunt, a salamander creek hunt, capture the flag in the woods, and many other exciting activities rounded out the week. The SPORTS & GAMES campers were all over camp as they played their favorite sports, which included: basketball, softball, dodgeball, ultimate frisbee, floor hockey, an ABC scavenger hunt, and many other great sports. Lots of fun was had all! Our ART & DRAMA CAMPERS got into the spirit of the week's theme by performing skits at round up in the afternoons. They also got to tye dye t-shirts, practiced line dancing, made cookies, played dodgeball, and many other great activities. Our COLT CAMPERS felt the heat this week whether they were up riding in the ring, working in the stables, having fun at ground lessons. They were all very excited when they got to swim at the pool with MERRYL, EMILY and LAURIE. All our EXPLORERS had a great week and now look forward to Week 11, 2002; the week of MARVEL & MYSTERY.

Teen Scene on Tour
(6th-8th Grades)

ALPHABET SOUP started our week out with letter games and introductions as the TEEN SCENE campers made new friends and chose the areas of camp they wanted to try out: The Wild Woozie with KATY MAC, Goats and Pet Rats with MILDRED, Beads with KAREN, Pool time, Sports & Games, Drama, Nature and more.

The TEEN SCENE's out of camp adventure began on Tuesday with a trip to CHRIS GREENE LAKE for fun, swimming, and canoeing. On Wednesday morning, campers did community service at one of the three locations: The Colonnades, Westminster Canterbury, and Charlottesville Parks and Rec. After a few hours of service we went to Washington Park Pool. Thursday took us over the mountain to Staunton. We started our day swimming at Gypsy Hill Park and following a picnic lunch headed indoors to SKATETOWN for exercise. Friday it was back to enjoying the fun of being on grounds, at Triple C Camp. Daily we presented the "TEEN SCENE MINUTE" to the entire camp, as we shared our day adventures with the younger campers.

THE EDGE (9th-10th Grades)

For ALPHABET SOUP week, "The Edge" campers started off by teaching at least two new activities to a group they chose to assist. We moved on to Trailblazer Choice Activity Time, led this week by CHELSEA PICINICH. AJ FRALEY led exciting water games including "Tag the Tree" and Sponge Dodgeball with CHELSEA. JESSIE PALMATEER and BRYAN MURPHY taught some fun new games to play at the pool, as well as helping lead activities with our specialists, ADAM THOMAS and KATY MCGOWEN. BRYAN DOTSON and NICK REYNOLDS lead "Camouflage" and "Flood" as nature activities. On Thursday ROSSER WAYLAND spent some time learning knots from KATY MCGOWEN, and the procedures to set up the climbing tower. Everyone got to climb the tower and zip as well. Friday "The Edge" headed to the Pepsi Cola Bottling Plant and Washington Park Pool to relax and enjoy a field trip planned by the group.
