Greetings from Triple C Camp!

DARRYL ROSE, guest drummer

Great sounds were heard all week long throughout the "Friendly Confines" of Triple C Camp. Campers were seen making musical instruments in Arts & Crafts, playing various, and listening to different tunes in the Dining Hall all week long. Tuesday we all donned our CRAZIEST HATS ! Everyone looked great! The week culminated with an all camp extravaganza that included the African Drum Music of Darryl Rose which gave campers the opportunity to learn and play on the African Drums that Darryl brought to share with our campers. Other activities at the all camp included a carnival with face painting, pudding eating contests, the mystery tent, sponge throwing at counselors, and so much more. A great time was had by all! Stay tuned for next week as we go Jammin' in the Jungle.

The 1st grade girls were seen making tambourine bracelets, tie dying, and so much more. The first grade boys had a great time working on their fort, looking for salamanders in the Triple C woods and creeks, and making music with forest sounds. The 1-2 boys went on scavenger hunts, worked on their fort in the woods, and did the 1-2 boys obstacle course. Second grade girls had fun making megaphones, hair barrettes, and noise makers, as the second grade boys ROCKED practicing for JOSH'S JAUNT, played sports galore, and took KINSER'S CLIMB all week long. All the Pioneers had a great time in the pool with lesson all week long. Get ready for next week when the Pioneers will be JAMMIN' IN THE JUNGLE all week long!

EVER EXPLORING...

Great Outdoors campers with JAMES and ADRIANNE hide away

The explorers are fortunate that they get to choose an area to specialize in each week, however still got lots of the sounds. Sports and Games campers enjoyed soccer, cricket, water relays, and dressing up ADAM. While the Art and Drama campers performed many dances and skits at round-up, decorated banners, made rain sticks, played charades, and painted their counselors. The Great Outdoors campers did some wonderful viewing of nature as they looked for creatures, played Predators and Prey, did leaf scrap books, made walking sticks, and learned to juggle with JAMES. Our horse back riders not only spent time learning to ride this week, they also created their own stables on paper, learned stable management by mucking out stalls, and washing, grooming and feeding the horses. They also spent time preparing skits for roundup, doing water relays, and bobbing for apples. All the explorers had a great time at our all camp event where they had the opportunity to go through the Triple C Camp Carnival and the African Drum Music of Mr. Darryl Rose. Next week the Explorers will continue to "JAM" IN THE JUNGLE!

TUNING INTO THE TEEN SCENE

WOW! What a week for our traveling Teen Sceners! They spent Monday in camp playing volleyball, a Run on the KINSER'S CLIMB, went to arts and crafts, and spent time on the Challenge Course at the Nitro Crossing and on the Flying Squirrel. On Tuesday the Teen Scene had a choice of movies before they went for an adventure of hiking, swimming, and canoeing at Walnut Creek. Wednesday morning campers did community service at the McIntire Recycling Center, assisting residents at Winter Haven Retirement Home, and assisting with landscaping at Johnson Elementary School. After a great morning of volunteer work, campers enjoyed peach picking at Carters Mountain Orchard. On Thursday campers went west to Shenandoah Acres. Campers enjoyed the day playing sand volleyball, cruising down the slides, and even playing a video game or two. Friday was spent back at the "Friendly Confines" of Triple C Camp where campers climbed the climbing wall on the Camp tower and then had a chance to zip down the 500' zip line! Before our all camp extravaganza, campers played some soccer or basketball and enjoyed the fierce competition. All the campers loved the African Sounds of Darryl Rose and look forward to more native tunes as we go Jammin' in the Jungle next week.
