Greetings from Triple C Camp!

DR. MAGIC shows everyone how to make a balloon animal!

Magic was in the air as we traveled through the World of Wonder. From magic potions, wizard hats and sorcerer wands to building one of the wonders of the world (the pyramids), everyone was magically protected from the heat. The mini pools, sprinklers, slip and slides, bus washing, wet 'n' wild obstacle courses, bathing the horses, and of course the Triple C Pools, also kept everyone cool this week. On Friday, DR. MAGIC entertained everyone by spending all morning making balloon animals and performing magic tricks. Friday's All-Camp was an amazing adventure, in which campers participated in the Giants, Wizards, and Elves game; Maypole; Wonder Boxes; and the Wonder Machine.

PONDERING PIONEERS

The 1ST GRADE BOYS keep cool in some unique and interesting ways, and help keep the buses looking GREAT!

Keeping cool and wet was a fun task this week, and the Pioneers found some interesting and unique ways to achieve it.

The KINDERGARTNERS learned new games, like "Splish, Splish, Splash," and tried out old favorites like freeze tag, dodge ball, and "What Time Is It, Mr. Wolf?"

The 1ST GRADE GIRLS put on an amazing fashion show for everyone at Round Up on Tuesday, as well as making princess hats and more in Arts & Crafts.

The 1ST GRADE BOYS found the most interesting way of cooling off; they washed the Triple C Buses, as well as slip 'n' sliding, and working on their fort.

The 1-2 BOYS kept cool this week by putting the finishing touches on the fort they built in the woods.

The 2ND GRADE GIRLS made some yummy yogurt smoothies for a special snack on Wednesday and made some great Butterfly T-shirts.

The 2ND GRADE BOYS learned about the magic of friendship this week as they befriended the snake in the Nature Cabin, as well as each other. They were a great help in cleaning up the dining hall, and picking up any stray trash as they walked around the grounds of Triple C!

Stay tuned next week for more amazing adventures as the Pioneers head into Sound Abounds at Triple C Camp!

EXPLORING AND WONDERING

JAMES and his GREAT OUTDOORS campers turned themselves into Wizards and cast a friendship spell on everyone at Triple C Camp!

The GREAT OUTDOORS campers with JAMES and SARAH made some amazing Wizard costumes, including hats, wands and capes. JOSH led the way for all the Great Outdoors campers at Walnut Creek, where campers enjoyed canoeing, hiking, swimming in the lake and grillin' hot dogs.

Campers in ART & DRAMA learned some great dances, made some banners to hang in the Dining Hall, and enjoyed lots of silly games and songs with ERICA and AMANDA.

In SPORTS & GAMES, campers spent time playing games in the woods, like Capture the Flag, Archery, Tetherball and Queen Ball, as well as getting wet on a Wet 'n' Wild Obstacle Course, the sprinklers, and the Slip 'n' Slide.

At the Barn, the HORSEBACK RIDERS helped keep the horses cool by bathing and grooming them. Everyone improved their riding skills with awesome instruction by KELLY, LORRAINE and EMME. They also enjoyed cooling off in the pool, and having some great coke floats as a special snack!

Next week is sure to be great as Sound Abounds!

TEEN SCENE TRAVELS

The Teen Scene started their adventures on Monday with a fun filled day of camp activities. Everyone had the opportunity to swim, horseback ride, visit the Petting Zoo, go Cross-Country running/walking, Eaglewalk, Catwalk at the Challenge Course, play capture the flag, and Frisbee Golf.

On Tuesday, the Teen Scene headed to the North Anna Power Plant for a tour of their facilities before heading to Lake Anna State Park for a picnic lunch and a chance to cool off.

Wednesday morning had the Teen Scene helping out the community. One group spent the morning assisting the residents at the Winter Haven Retirement Community. A second group organized and sorted at the McIntyre Recycling Center, as a third group picked up trash around Washington Park. After enjoying a quick lunch, campers cooled off and enjoyed the slides at the Washington Park Pool.

Thursday took the Teen Scene westward to Staunton for a morning of Roller Skating at Skatetown USA. The afternoon was spent at Ridgeview Park in Waynesboro. The Teen Scene enjoyed the challenge of the three diving boards, and cooling off in the swimming pool.

On Friday, the Teen Scene wrapped up the week in camp choosing from an assortment of activities, including climbing the 35' Tower and Zipping down the 500' Zip Line.

Everyone will want to be "hear" next week because Sound Abounds at Triple C Camp!
