PIONEER POWER!

HUNTER M enjoys the water wheel in the pool!

The heat played right into our Tropical Paradise theme this week, while the Pioneers enjoyed all the things Tropical Triple C had to offer. The KINDERGARTNERS enjoyed getting dirty during their explorations through camp as they hiked the trails, body painted counselors JON and LAUREN, and tried to catch salamanders in the creek. The FIRST GRADE GIRLS bobbed for apples, made amazing wash cloth bunnies (which hold pencils and markers), and learned a dance to "Don't Worry, Be Happy." The FIRST GRADE BOYS, under the leadership of NIKKI and JONATHAN, made some amazing Tropical Fruit Smoothies for a yummmmmmy snack! The FIRST-SECOND GRADE BOYS enjoyed a variety of relays, practiced their basketball skills, and enjoyed the slip Õn slide! The SECOND GRADE GIRLS enjoyed arts & crafts this week as they traced their buddy then decorated them, made paper flowers, made hula skirts and paper leis. The SECOND GRADE BOYS learned lots of new sports like cricket, touch football, floor hockey and rugby. They also made some great milkshakes for a tasty treat on Tuesday! All of the Pioneers enjoyed the all camp event, which kept us cool and wet! We can't wait to see the stars in It's Showtime Week! Keep your eyes open, you never know who may make a guest appearance!

EVER EXPLORING...

JAKE N and BEN G attack the WALL on the Challenge Course

Learning about Tropical Under the Sea creatures was a fun part of the GREAT OUTDOORS week, as well as continuing to work on the fort in the woods, tree hugging, and fire building safety. Another successful cookout by the campers on Thursday.

The HORSEBACK RIDERS enjoyed the challenge of the stables, from care and grooming to trotting and jumping. Even MAJIC got into the act and displayed her Tropical garb at Roundup on Friday morning.

Surf was up for the SPORTS and GAMES campers, as they rode the wild waves at the Triple C Pool. The new Water Wheel added to the fun of Pool time. Many of the Sports & Games campers learned the Hula and made astro turf (aka grass) skirts.

ART & DRAMA wigged out on Watermelon, hula danced, weaved, made leis, hula skirts, lanyards and more. All the explorers had the chance to climb the wall this week. Great job everyone!

ALL ARE SURE TO SHINE NEXT WEEK AS IT'S... SHOWTIME!

TRAVELING TEEN SCENERS

SAMANTHA and ROSSER, need we say more

Tropical Paradise Week started off HOT, but the Teen Scene managed to stay cool, and wet!

After a busy day of camp activities on Monday, the Teen Scene headed to Chris Greene Lake for a day of fun in the sun. Campers enjoyed swimming in a sand-bottomed lake, and having a lakeside picnic lunch.

On Wednesday morning, everyone worked hard at their community service location. Some campers got to know the residents at the Westminster Canterbury Retirement Center, while a second group socialized with the adults at the Winterhaven Retirement Community, as the third group organized at the McIntire Recycling Center. After having lunch at Darden Towe Park, campers cooled off in the water at Washington Park.

Thursday was a day for exploration and adventure, as campers panned for precious stones at Moorfield Mines in Goochland County.

On Friday, the Teen Scene enjoyed a day of Tropical Triple C! They got to choose from an array of activities including a chance to attempt our Vertical Playpen before taking off on the 500' Zip Line! Be sure to ask your campers how the ride was! Campers also got a chance to visit the animals at the Petting Zoo, horseback ride, show their creative genius at Arts & Crafts, and aim for the counselors in the Water Balloon relay, before cooling off in the Triple C Camp pool!

Stay tuned... next week brings the stars and lights of Hollywood to Triple C Camp! It's Showtime is sure to be an adventure no one wants to miss!
